School Council

The Pen y fro Primary School Council was set up 6 years ago by Mrs. Lewis in order to involve pupils in the running of the school and to start them off on the road to becoming responsible and active citizens of the future.

The council meets twice every half-term. The council members, two from each year, are elected by their classmates in a secret ballot in September. They wear special badges so that pupils from other year groups know who they are and can approach them with ideas or problems. The council members are responsible for producing an agenda, running the meetings and taking minutes. They also report back to their class on the content of the meetings, decisions to be considered and progress made on previous suggestions.
